You'll find a hunters paradise in Langlade County. With over 130,000 acres of territory open for public hunting, you will find unlimited hunting opportunities!

Hunters like Langlade County's combination of forests, farmlands, and watersheds which provide many opportunities for all ages! Non-motorized activities, like hunting, is allowed on all land in the County Forest Crop Program, private industrial land in the Forest Crop Law or Managed Forest Lands Law, and designated State land.

You can access these areas by using any road on the Official County Road Map (available at the Chamber office). You can also access the area by foot and some motorized options. Other options to access the areas are governed by rules and policies approved by each entity. Please contact the Antigo DNR Station for specific access information (contact information below).

The active timber management in Langlade County provides an excellent mixture of wildlife habitats consisting of young aspen forests, mature hardwood forests, and wet-lands. Hunting here includes big game (deer and bear), small game (ruffed grouse, woodcock, squirrel, rabbit, turkey and waterfowl). Predator hunting is also a big sport in Langlade County.

Langlade County Bow & Gun Range

Located south of Antigo on Sunnyside/Range Road, is maintained by the Langlade County Forestry and Recreation Department. It's regulated by the Langlade County Forests and Parks Ordinance and violations of the range regulations are subject to penalties as specified in the ordinance.

The range offers facilities for archery, airgun, and firearm use. There are benches to site in your rifle or pistol, set at 25 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards, 200 yards, and 300 yards. There is also an archery range in the wooded area south of the Long-Bore Range. Archers will need to bring targets, and attach them to the bales at each target site.

The Bow & Gun Range opens at 7:00 am, and the range closes following the State of Wisconsin DNR's hunting hours.
